All Souls College, Oxford, has acquired a 2,545 sq m (27,400 sq ft) industrial / distribution building on the first four acre phase of Access 18, the 212-acres brownfield regeneration scheme at Avonmouth, Bristol, being developed by St Modwen Developments Ltd, the development subsidiary of St Modwen Properties PLC.
Earlier this year, St Modwen let the building – one of two it had constructed speculatively – to Commercial Ceiling Factors, part of the Travis Perkins Group.
St Modwen acquired the former Britannia Zinc smelter site after it closed in February. It has already started on demolition and site clearance and has applied for planning consent on a second 34-acre phase off Avonmouth Way.
Masterplanning and developing a strategy for the reclamation of the remainder of the scheme is already well advanced.
