PETS AT HOME TO EXTEND DISTRIBUTION CENTRE AT TRENTHAM LAKES

Pets At Home has signed an agreement with Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration Ltd, the joint venture between St Modwen Properties PLC and Stoke City Council for a 11,148 sq m (120,000 sq ft) extension to its distribution centre on the 400-acre Trentham Lakes business park, Stoke-on-Trent. Construction of the extension, which will comprise warehousing and additional offices, has commenced and is scheduled for completion by mid-August.

The extension is required due to the success of the existing 13,935 sq m (150,000 sq ft) facility completed in 2002. Euan Lindsay of St Modwen, said: “This extension was envisaged when the agreement for the original building was made. Land was set aside for this expansion which is now being taken up. Trentham Lakes’ location has been most successful and Pets At Home’s expansion represents further evidence of the continuing investment companies are prepared to make in Stoke and Staffordshire.

“The original building is now owned by Prudential and in order to facilitate the extension, agreement has been reached with Prudential for a new lease of the whole complex.”
