PLANNING SUBMITTED FOR NEW HOMES AT CADLEY HILL
Award-winning residential developer, St. Modwen Homes, has submitted a detailed planning application for a new residential scheme in Cadley Hill, near Swadlincote.
Following the success of the housebuilder’s Woodlands Reach development in Ravenstone, a detailed planning application has now been submitted at Cadley Hill for 215 two, three, four and five bedroom detached and semi-detached family homes in a variety of different house styles, in addition to landscaped public areas.
Providing homes which are sympathetic to the local environment, the majority of properties will be built in traditional red brick, with stone sills and door surrounds. Other features complementing the surrounding architecture have been built carefully into the design of the new houses, including pitched entry porticos and brick chimneys.
All the homes will boast unique features that St. Modwen Homes is becoming well known for, such as large bay windows and high ceilings, giving an impression of light and height throughout the homes and helping save the homeowner money on utility bills.
Guy Gusterson, Managing Director of St. Modwen Homes said: “We have submitted a planning application for 215 new homes at Cadley Hill in order to meet the demand for high-quality houses in the local area. The new development will provide a wide range of properties to suit people on all stages of the property ladder – from attractive two bedroom starter properties, right up to substantial five bedroom family homes, which have been carefully designed to meet the needs of modern family living.
“The new residential development at Cadley Hill will mark St. Modwen Homes’ eighth development since the company’s inception just two years ago. In that time we have sold out at our first housing scheme, Park View in Longbridge, near Birmingham and have won a number of awards for our developments across the UK, including a Bronze Award for the Best Development at Locking Parklands in the What House? 2012 Awards – something we consider to be an incredible achievement.”
St. Modwen Homes is the residential brand of St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist. The new homes will form part of St. Modwen’s broader multi-million pound regeneration of the 25 acre site, which will include 95,000 sq ft of small office, light industrial, storage and distribution premises on the site. As part of the development, St. Modwen will also contribute to primary school provision and recreational facilities in the area.
Typical of St. Modwen Homes’ design-led approach to housebuilding, the new properties proposed at Cadley Hill will all boast large open-plan living areas and will be built to the highest standard, with high quality fixtures and fittings. The houses will also be available to purchase through the Government’s equity loan scheme, Help to Buy, under which purchasers will require a deposit of just five per cent.
The proposed development at Cadley Hill is just one of St. Modwen Homes’ housing sites across the UK, with other developments including Edison Place in Rugby, Woodlands Reach in Ravenstone and Gregorys Bank in Worcester. Now in its second year, St. Modwen Homes has already established a name for itself as a trustworthy developer that ensures the local community and high quality standard of living remain the top priorities when building new homes.
