PUBLIC CONSULTATION FOR BURTON ON TRENT REGENERATION PLANS
St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, is hosting two consultation events for its proposed development off Beech Lane in Burton on Trent – giving members of the public an opportunity to view the regeneration plans and provide their feedback on the proposals before a planning application is submitted.
The public consultations will be held at Tom Bradbury Lounge, Burton Albion Football Club, Pirelli Stadium, Princess Way, Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, DE13 0AR on Tuesday 20th October from 5pm to 8pm and Friday 23rd October from 11am to 3pm.
Local residents and interested parties are invited to attend and take a closer look at St. Modwen’s proposals. These include approximately 200 new homes on a 20 acre site off Beech Lane adjacent to the Trent & Mersey Canal which was acquired by St. Modwen from Pirelli in 2005. The proposals also cover improvements to the neighbouring Pirelli site.
Representatives from St. Modwen will be on-hand throughout the consultation events, together with the architects, planning consultants and engineers working on the project. All will be available to answer questions relating to the new development, and will receive comments and feedback on the proposals.
Feedback from the public consultations will assist St. Modwen in preparation for submitting a planning application to East Staffordshire Borough Council for the new development and housing scheme by the end of the year.
Ian Romano, senior development surveyor for St. Modwen, said: “Consulting with the public is an important part of the pre-planning process; and we therefore hope that local residents will take this opportunity to find out more about the new development and to provide their individual responses to the proposals.”
Aside from having an exhibition of the plans, members of the project team will also be on hand to talk people through the visuals and to answer any questions that may arise.”
Dominic Sandivasci, managing director of Pirelli UK Tyres Limited, said: “Pirelli has been working closely with St. Modwen to prepare and jointly submit a planning application for the redevelopment of Beech Lane and the reconfiguration of the Pirelli factory. We look forward to the regeneration of the area, which will also include the continued investment and improvements to the Pirelli facilities.”
