PUBLIC CONSULTATION PLANNED TO DISCUSS PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS TO RYKNELD PRIMARY SCHOOL

St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, is to hold a public consultation event to discuss its proposals for the extension to Rykneld Primary School in Branston.

The planned works comprise a 2-storey extension, with 10 new classrooms, extra staff and pupil support rooms and a large new sports hall. In addition, an all-weather sports pitch will be created, alongside improved hard and soft play areas.

The public consultation will take place on Thursday 7th November between 2.30pm – 8pm at Rykneld Primary School, Main Street, Branston, Burton upon Trent, DE14 3EX.

Residents and other interested parties will be able to view an exhibition of the proposed development and provide feedback to members of the St. Modwen project team, who will be on hand to answer any questions.

Ian Romano, senior development surveyor at St. Modwen, said: “The proposed extension to Rykneld Primary School will create a vastly improved and modern educational environment for children.

“The proposals are part of our first phase of work planned for Branston. The work to expand the school will increase current capacity from 470 to 630, and will assist in supporting a more flexible space for learning and community activities.

“Consulting with the public is an important part of the planning process. We would like local residents and businesses to attend this consultation and give us their comments and feedback on the proposals before we submit a detailed planning application.”

The public consultation will give local people an opportunity to comment on the plans and provide feedback to assist St. Modwen in finalising its planning application for submission.
