Representatives from St. Modwen, Reel Cinemas and West Lancashire Borough Council gathered today to mark a significant step forward in the Skelmersdale Town Centre regeneration Project. Reel Cinema has completed a 15 year lease agreement with St. Modwen, confirming the independent cinema operator as the anchor leisure tenant at Skelmersdale Town Centre.
The news signals long term commitment to the town and is the latest milestone for the £10million scheme, which will bring 500 jobs and 50,000 sq ft of retail, leisure and entertainment space to Skelmersdale, introducing a new night time economy, transforming the town centre.
St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, has been working in partnership with the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and West Lancashire Borough Council since 2007 for the delivery of a comprehensive regeneration scheme in Skelmersdale town centre. The partners are grateful for the support provided by the local MP, Rosie Cooper since the scheme’s inception.
