Retail warehousing planned at Ellesmere Port

A planning application has been submitted by St Modwen Developments Ltd, development subsidiary of St Modwen Properties PLC, for the development of 10,033 sq m (108,000 sq ft) non-food bulky goods retail warehousing on the site of the former H H Robinson works in Cromwell Road, near the centre of Ellesmere Port.

The 14.5 acres site, acquired in 1999 by St Modwen for regeneration, is allocated in the Local Plan for retail development. It is hoped that planning consent will be granted in early summer.

Michelle Taylor, regional director of St Modwen, said: “We have worked closely with Ellesmere Port and Neston Borough Council to tailor the scheme to complement and to strengthen the existing town centre. We are very hopeful of securing permission for this major town centre regeneration project.”

Units ranging from 464 sq m (5,000 sq ft) upwards are planned. Ramsdens is letting agent for St Modwen.
