Rupert Joseland has been promoted by St Modwen, the Birmingham-based regeneration specialist, to regional director for the South West region.
Rupert, aged 37, joined St Modwen in 2001 as a development surveyor in the Midlands region and was promoted in December 2004 to regional manager to open a new office in the South West, based at Avonmouth.
Building on a portfolio of sites inherited from the Midlands region, stretching from Gloucester to Taunton and Swindon to Newport, Rupert has built-up the region rapidly recruiting two development surveyors and acquiring sites in Hungerford, Ludgershall and Weston-super-Mare.
The promotion follows the recent success in obtaining planning consent at Llanwern for an urban village comprising 4,000 homes and a full range of community uses together with 1.5 million sq ft of employment space, and being selected by BP as its preferred development partner for the 1,000 acre former oil refinery site at Coed Darcy.
Bill Oliver, chief executive of St Modwen, said: “It is always a pleasure to see a colleague making such excellent progress in the company. Rupert has thoroughly deserved this promotion.”
