SELECT FASHION OPENS IN BILLINGHAM TOWN CENTRE

Women’s clothes retailer, Select Fashion, is the latest new retailer to open a store in Billingham Town Centre. The company has agreed a 10 year lease with St. Modwen, which owns and manages the town centre.

Select Fashion, a leading name in women’s fashion, offers the latest catwalk trends at affordable prices. The company has taken a 2,800 sq ft unit at 43 Queensway. The unit has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment, including a new fit-out. The new store will create up to 10 new jobs for local people.

Rob Richardson, Asset and Development Manager at St. Modwen, said: “This is great news for Billingham Town Centre. One of our priorities, since acquiring the town centre late last year, has been to attract more fashion retailers. This new addition will bring more visitors to the centre and we are confident it will encourage more new retailers as well.”

Sarah Jenkinson, Store Manager at Select Fashion, said “We are so glad to be back in Billingham. As work continues to regenerate the town centre, which is looking great, this new store is a welcome addition. We are gradually rebuilding our portfolio across Teesside and we have had lots of positive feedback from customers too. Select is a value fashion brand which offers good quality fashion at competitive prices. We have created 10 new jobs from full-time management to part-time weekend staff.”

The Leeds office of Colliers International and CPNE (Connect Property North East) acted on behalf of St. Modwen.

Tom Glynn, Associate Director at Colliers International, said: “Attracting Select is a really positive sign for Billingham Town Centre and is a signal of our belief that there is scope to increase the number of national occupiers and improve the profile of the centre. The improvements being made throughout the town centre by St Modwen will no doubt make the opportunity for retailers all the more attractive.”

St. Modwen is currently working to secure more new retailers to Billingham Town Centre.
