ST. MODWEN ACQUIRES PRIME DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY IN EASTWOOD, NOTTINGHAMSHIRE

St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, has acquired a prime site in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, from Granite Real Estate Ltd, with a view to creating a new residential community in a desirable location.

Situated on the A610 dual carriageway within easy reach of J26 of the M1 and Nottingham City Centre, the 17 acre site is just 1.5 miles from IKEA and the Giltbrook Retail Park.

It is split into two parcels of 13.38 and 3.7 acres, bisected by Newmanleys Road, and is currently covered by a total 279,000 sq ft of unoccupied buildings that were previously home to a specialist manufacturing facility for Beamlight Automotive Seating, which closed in 2012.  The majority of the buildings on the site were constructed over 70 years ago and are no longer fit for purpose.

David Dodge, senior residential development surveyor at St. Modwen, said: “We’re pleased to have secured this site as it offers a real opportunity, subject to planning approval, to create a new community for families and young professionals working in and around Nottingham and across the wider East Midlands.

“We look forward to working with Broxtowe Borough Council to achieve the best possible outcome for the site.”

Agents for the sale were CBRE.
