Local under 15s football club, Hollymoor FC, is celebrating after securing sponsorship for the upcoming season from national housebuilder, St. Modwen Homes.

The Longbridge-based club has been running for six years but this is the first time it will have an official sponsor on-board. This official support means the club is now able to donate the £190 it had originally raised towards the players’ new football kits to local charity, Get Ahead.

St. Modwen Homes, the housebuilder behind the new homes at Park View in Longbridge, is committed to supporting the local community and, as such, has already worked with local schools and community groups in the area.

Guy Gusterson, managing director at St. Modwen Homes said: “The regeneration of Longbridge, including the new homes at Park View, is about bringing life back to the area following the closure of the former MG Rover Factory. Supporting community organisations is incredibly important to us and we are very proud to be supporting Hollymoor FC for the upcoming season.”

Made up of 14 players, aged between 14 and 15, all of whom live in Longbridge,  Hollymoor FC plays matches against other youth teams across the Birmingham area including Kings Norton, Erdington and Solihull. The team is managed by Dave O’Driscoll and coached by his son Sam O’Driscoll.

Loretta Web, secretary at Hollymoor FC said: “All the players and their families are extremely grateful to have someone as high profile as St. Modwen Homes supporting our football club. To be able to give the money we had originally raised to Get Ahead is the icing on the cake!

“St. Modwen has really transformed the local area, giving our town a new lease of life from the new shops and park in the town centre to the new homes at Park View.”

Just one home remains for sale on the current phase at Park View on Lickey Road. Priced at  £179,950, the Beacon three bedroom mid terraced home is available under the Government’s Help to Buy scheme which allows purchases to buy a house at just 80% of the price and with a deposit of just 5%.

Due to the high demand for properties at its Park View development, St. Modwen Homes has submitted a planning application for further houses and apartments on Lickey Road.

Similar to St. Modwen Homes’ properties across the UK, the homes at Park View boast higher than average ceilings and large windows allowing natural light to flood through the homes. All houses are built to the highest standard and come with high quality fixtures and fittings as standard.

Park View is one of seven St. Modwen Homes’ housing sites located across the UK with other developments including Edison Place in Rugby, Woodlands Reach in Ravenstone and Gregorys Bank in Worcester. Now in its second year of existence, St. Modwen Homes has already established a name for itself as a trustworthy developer that ensures the local community and high quality standard of living remain the top priorities when building new homes. The housebuilder is part of St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist which has more than 25 years’ experience in the property industry.
