ST. MODWEN HOMES NAMED BEST HOUSEBUILDER IN THE UK
St. Modwen Homes, the housebuilder behind the new Gregorys Bank development in Worcester, received the top accolade at a national award ceremony last week, winning Best Small Housebuilder in the UK.
The developer also won Best House Design for Three Storeys or Fewer at the Housebuilder Awards; an annual event that celebrates the very best in UK housebuilding. The awards are held by the HBF (Home Builders Federation), in partnership with the NHBC (National House-Building Council).
The judges commented that St. Modwen Homes demonstrated a commitment to innovation, improvement and excellence and had an imaginative approach to housebuilding, which in turn has, and will, benefit customers, employees and suppliers alike.
Guy Gusterson, managing director at St. Modwen Homes, said: “We are delighted to have been named Best Small Housebuilder at the recent Housebuilder Awards.
“To have won this award despite the fact that St. Modwen Homes was formed just over two years ago demonstrates how much the company has achieved in such a short space of time. We now have five active developments across the UK, including Gregorys Bank, and have sold out at a further two sites in the last few months alone. This recognition is testament to the hard work and dedication of the St. Modwen Homes team and our commitment to delivering award-winning homes across the country.”
St. Modwen Homes received the awards for its carefully considered approach to housebuilding, designing each individual house with unique features so that the properties take full advantage of the developments’ surroundings. The judges were impressed by the light and airy feel of the houses, emphasised by floor to ceiling windows, glazing around the front doors and vaulted ceilings in some of the properties. At Gregorys Bank, there are currently six house types available – with additional variations in external elevations – ranging from three bedroom semi-detached homes to five bedroom detached properties.
St. Modwen Homes claimed the award over competition from other long-established developers including Taylor Wimpey, Redrow and Crest Nicholson.
Guy said: “We take great pride in the design of our houses and are delighted that this has been recognised by one of the industry’s leading organisations. Working closely with our architects, we have put in a lot of effort to make sure that our properties boast practical, intelligent and attractive designs, ensuring that they really stand out against others in the marketplace, particularly for the price.”
When complete, the first phase at Gregorys Bank will deliver more than 50 three, four and five bedroom luxury houses – some of which overlook the picturesque Worcester and Birmingham Canal. Boasting traditional red brick exteriors and feature bay windows, the homes at Gregorys Bank are perfectly situated for those wishing to commute to work in Birmingham city centre or further afield, with the M5 (junctions 6 and 7) just ten minutes away and a direct train to Birmingham taking 40 minutes.
St. Modwen Homes – the housebuilding brand of St. Modwen – recently opened the doors to a brand new five bedroom show home at Gregorys Bank. Professionally styled by interior designers, the property has wowed visitors with the quality of build and luxury specification St. Modwen Homes offers.
Houses are currently for sale at Gregorys Bank starting in price from £257,950 for a three bedroom house. The marketing suite, located off St. Georges Lane North, is open for visitors Thursday to Monday, inclusive of weekends, from 10am to 6pm.
