St. Modwen Homes has submitted a planning application to deliver 168 additional new homes at Locking Parklands in Weston-Super-Mare.

Subject to planning consent being granted, work for phase three of the homes is expected to start on site in November 2015 with a view to launching the St. Modwen Homes properties onto the market in January 2016.

Rupert Joseland, south west Regional Director for the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, St. Modwen and developer of Locking Parklands, said:

“The 168 new St. Modwen Homes properties will comprise of one, two, three and four bedroom homes and will join the 250 dwellings already delivered at Locking Parklands. We pride ourselves in developing high quality homes that possess a contemporary feel but are also distinctive. Our unique designs and signature features, including full height windows and a variety of external finishes, ensure spacious and light homes that possess unique character and beauty.”

Being developed over a 20 year period, the £400m mixed-use project will deliver a total of 1,450 homes, of which 13% will be affordable. Locking Parklands will also comprise essential community facilities, including a school, retail facilities, a library, leisure facilities and 80 acres of landscaped parkland.  There is also around 650,000 sq ft of employment space planned, with a job creation potential of 2,000 jobs, over the project lifetime to provide a sustainable community where people can live, work and relax.

Since phased development work first began on site in 2010, St. Modwen has provided 250 new homes and 6,000 sq ft of office space with the potential to create 50 new jobs. To date all homes within phase one and phase two have been sold, subject to legals.
