ST. MODWEN IS SHORTLISTED FOR BREEAM AWARD FOR TEAL PARK
St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, has been shortlisted for a BREEAM 2014 Award for its 135,000 sq ft Siemens facility at Teal Park, Lincoln. The facility, which was delivered by St. Modwen and handed over to Siemens in October 2012, has been shortlisted in the Industrial category.
St. Modwen successfully delivered the facility to Siemens’ exacting timeframe, allowing the company to relocate its gas turbine services business from its existing four sites in Lincoln to the new, state-of-the-art premises. In recognition of its sustainable design, the facility was awarded a ‘BREEAM Outstanding’ rating for its 85,000 sq ft servicing facility and a ‘BREEAM Excellent’ rating for its 50,000 sq ft office space.
BREEAM ratings set the standard for best practice in sustainable building design, construction and operation, and they have become one of the most widely recognised measures of a building’s environmental performance. The BREEAM Awards are a celebration of the most outstanding projects, with this years’ shortlist generated from the highest scoring buildings certified in 2013.
Stephen Prosser, Northern Regional Director, said: “I am delighted that the Siemens facility has been recognised for its sustainable credentials. One of Siemens’ requirements at the start of the project was to achieve a ‘BREEAM Excellent’ rating so we were extremely proud to have exceeded that and delivered a ‘BREEAM Outstanding’ servicing facility. This award shortlist is further testament to the hard work and dedication of all parties involved in the project.”
The award ceremony will take place on 4th March 2014 at the Ecobuild Exhibition in London.
