St Modwen launch £4 million expansion at Cranfield Technology Park

ST MODWEN LAUNCH £4 M. EXPANSION AT CRANFIELD TECHNOLOGY PARK St Modwen Developments Ltd, the development subsidiary of St Modwen Properties PLC, is undertaking a major £4 million expansion at Cranfield Technology Park.

St Modwen is acquiring the existing 1,412 sq m (15,200 sq ft) Innovation Centre from Mid-Bedfordshire District Council which it intends to upgrade. It will also expand the Innovation Centre with a new 1,858 sq m (20,000 sq ft) wing to provide suites up to 139 sq m (1,500 sq ft).

In addition, following the successful letting of the 1,858 sq m (20,000 sq ft) high-tech building Trent House within three months of practical completion in 2000, St Modwen is to construct a repeat building.

Nick Kay of St Modwen, said: “The repeat Trent House building will offer suites of between 186 sq m (2,000 sq ft) and 743 sq m (8,000 sq ft) and on completion of the two new projects we will have 6,967 sq m (75,000 sq ft) of accommodation on flexible terms for knowledge-based occupiers.”

The 40.4 hectare park which St Modwen is developing in conjunction with Cranfield University, will also feature bespoke building from 743 sq m (8,000 sq ft) to 18,580 sq m (200,000 sq ft) for companies requiring long term occupancy and who have a synergy with the postgraduate university which specialises in technology and management.
