ST. MODWEN LETS NEW LETCHWORTH INDUSTRIAL ESTATE

Two established Letchworth businesses are to move to new headquarters on the town’s Works Road following the £5m construction of a new industrial estate by the UK’s leading regeneration specialist St. Modwen

In a vote of confidence for the town, Tyco (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tyco International plc) and DPD franchisee Titan Logistics Limited have between them signed up for the  entire 90,000 sq ft development.

St. Modwen obtained planning permission for the brownfield former power station site in 2014 and began work at the end of last year.

Nick Smith, Development Manager at St. Modwen, said that the new industrial space had enabled the businesses to stay in the town:

“As with a number of towns in the region Letchworth has not seen major new industrial development for a number of years, meaning that a lot of the existing accommodation is becoming unsuitable for modern, ambitious businesses.

“By delivering this new space we are glad to be able to keep these key employers in the town, capitalising on Letchworth’s excellent connections across the region and the UK as a whole.”

Letting agents for the scheme are Brown & Lee and Colliers.
