St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, has secured outline planning approval for a substantial residential regeneration project at Queensway in Telford

The eight acre site, located just off the A442, to the north east of the town, is set to be transformed with the construction of up to 68 high quality, two, three and four bedroom houses.

The plans include the creation of two acres of recreational amenities to incorporating new cycle ways and footpaths, providing a seamless link between new public realm and existing countryside, including Silkin Way. The proposals also allow for the retention of mature trees and hedgerows.

St. Modwen has also committed to make financial contributions towards the provision of local children’s play facilities and to assist with the transformation of an adjacent disused canal.

Queensway occupies a prime location in close proximity to a range of employment opportunities, including St. Modwen’s Queensway Business Park and local amenities.  Leegomery village centre is within a half a mile of the site and the town centres of Wellington and Telford are a short drive.

Richard Hickman, planning manager at St. Modwen said: “We are pleased to have been granted outline planning permission for our proposed residential scheme in Telford. We have worked alongside Telford & Wrekin Council to understand the requirements of the local area and, based on the feedback received and the research we have undertaken, we have proposed a high quality residential development.

“The location benefits from superb connectivity and the development will deliver a wide range of housing.”
