Net Carbon Reduction

St. Modwen partner with Build Better Now for COP26

St. Modwen have joined forces with the World Green Building Council (WGBC) and UK Green Building Council (UKBGC) to become a commercial partner for the Build Better Now campaign, forming part of the COP26 Built Environment Virtual Pavilion.

Build Better Now is an engaging, virtual experience and event series showcasing some of the most innovative design projects from around the world which demonstrate the opportunities for sustainability in the Built Environment. From climate mitigation and adaptation to natural resource use and nature-based solutions, Build Better Now will raise awareness of the environmental impact of the buildings and cities we inhabit, offer innovative and practical solutions to mitigating climate change and highlight how a more responsible and sustainable built environment is within our grasp.

By becoming a Commercial Partner, St. Modwen are proud to be amplifying conversations throughout COP26 around tackling the climate and ecological crisis and the inspiring worldwide digital stage that Build Better Now offers.

As part of our six responsible business ambitions, we have committed to becoming operationally net zero carbon by the middle of the decade, with the overall aim to be fully net zero by 2040. As we look to achieve this crucial target, we’re continuing to implement new technologies and green strategies across St. Modwen such as 30% of homes to include modern methods of construction (MMC) and trialing new Passivhaus technologies.

The Build Better Now exhibition will run from 31 October – 12 November 2021. Explore the full exhibition and events here.
