ST MODWEN POISED FOR MORE DEVELOPMENT AT STRETTON BUSINESS PARK
Seven more business units are to be built by St Modwen Developments Ltd on its 93- acre Stretton Business Park, Burton-on-Trent, to help to meet a local shortage of such accommodation.
This phase, which completes St Modwen’s joint venture development with the former Blue Circle company at Stretton, will provide units from 6,635 sq ft to 11,640 sq ft totalling 64,700 sq ft . Construction will begin in June and be ready for occupation late November. “We are aiming to provide units of a size that are not currently available in Burton, and which offer opportunities for occupiers to purchase long leaseholds as well as to rent,” explained Paul Smith of St Modwen.
Since it started work on the derelict Blue Circle site, St Modwen has completely changed the environment of this part of Burton with a new road and canal bridge giving access to Stretton village. Eighty-two acres have been reclaimed, approximately 300 houses built ,14 acres of public open space created and 30 acres developed for employment, providing or safeguarding hundreds of jobs.
Rushton Hickman is the letting agent.
