Following the granting of planning permission, St Modwen Properties PLC is preparing an early summer start on the 170,000 sq ft (15,793 sq m) first phase development of Melton Park, North Ferriby, Hull – East Yorkshire’s premier mixed-use development.
Initially,120,000 sq ft (11.148 sq m) of new employment units and 50,000 sq ft (4,645 sq m) of offices will be developed on the 116-acre site and are expected to be completed by the end of the year. Already a number of pre-sales have been agreed.
Steve Prosser, St Modwen’s regional manager, said that a further planning application had been submitted for a public house which Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries would operate, plus a hotel and small-scale retail facilities to serve the park and the local community.
“We are currently discussing several other larger scale proposals with a number of other occupiers,” he added.
Melton Park has the potential of providing up to two million sq ft of accommodation and opportunities for up to 3,000 jobs.
