ST. MODWEN PROGRESSES WITH FURTHER SPECULATIVE DEVELOPMENT AT LITTLECOMBE IN RESPONSE TO MARKET DEMAND

St. Modwen has submitted a planning application to provide an additional 18,350 sq ft of business accommodation at its £150m Littlecombe development, in Dursley, to meet growing demand across the area for industrial and distribution space.

Subject to planning consent, this additional space is being developed, in partnership with Stroud District Council, to provide a choice of nine commercial units with floor space ranging from 1,300 through to 8,600 sq ft.  Their release onto the market in late 2017 will help to satisfy the pent-up demand in the local area as well as create opportunity to attract up to 70 more jobs for the local area.

Pete Davies, Senior Development Manager for St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist and Stroud District Council’s development partner at Littlecombe, explains:

“There is a severe lack of new employment space across Gloucestershire and we are building speculatively at our key developments right across the South West to satisfy this pent-up demand.  The Business Park at Littlecombe is already home to 16 local businesses which employ over xx people and this next phase of employment space, in partnership with Stroud District Council, will support a further nine companies and up to 70 jobs.”

Littlecombe Business Park is located within the 92 acre mixed-use scheme at Littlecombe in Dursley.  Much of this £150m development has now been delivered as it gears up to complete in xx.  Once completed, the entire scheme will comprise of 450 new homes and apartments; 100,000 sq ft of employment space, within easy reach of the M5, a community hospital and around 40 acres of green open space.

Businesses can register their interest in the new speculative units, available for sale or rent, subject to planning consent, with Stroud District Council.
