Developer St. Modwen is to apply for planning permission from Stoke-on-Trent City Council for the building of up to 300 high quality homes at its Trentham Lakes development.

The proposals, which are in outline at this stage, include a mix of detached, semi-detached and terraced homes to provide a range of housing choice. Fronting onto Stanley Matthews Way, the 30 acre site will also include public open spaces, children’s play areas and new pedestrian and cycle links.

St. Modwen is currently consulting with nearby residents and businesses on the proposals and will use the feedback in shaping the planning application.

Euan Lindsay, Senior Development Manager at St. Modwen, said overall public response to the plans had been extremely positive so far:

“We have received many welcoming comments in response to our consultation, supporting our view that a new residential neighbourhood at Trentham Lakes will prove very popular.

“The new homes will provide improved housing choice in the Trentham area, boost the sense of community at the development and help attract inward investing companies to the city.”

“Residents will have the benefit of the wide range of leisure and commercial facilities already provided at Trentham Lakes as well as living within one mile of St. Modwen’s very popular Trentham Estate and Gardens.

The proposed development will mark a further phase at the successful 400 acre Trentham Lakes scheme, which already includes leisure, commercial, business and residential development.

Trentham Lakes is a development by Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration Ltd, a joint venture between St. Modwen and Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
