ST. MODWEN PROVES ENVIRONMENTAL CREDENTIALS AT THE MEADS
St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, has secured the prestigious ISO 14001 environmental certification for The Meads shopping centre in Farnborough town centre.
The international standard demonstrates St. Modwen’s commitment to environmental best practice in recycling and energy, waste and water use. The accreditation requires a monthly check on all environmental aspects of shopping centre operations and states that all suppliers must source goods ethically (be either local suppliers or also accredited with the ISO 14001).
Andy Wynn, centre manager at the Meads said: “This is a great achievement for The Meads. Only a few shopping centres in the UK have attained this important award; The Meads is helping to lead the way in environmentally responsible shopping.”
The first and second phases of St. Modwen’s redevelopment of Farnborough town centre have been successfully completed. The environmental accreditation follows the news that fashion retailer New Look will be opening a new store before Christmas, joining Sainsbury’s and Travelodge in St. Modwen’s transformation of Farnborough town centre.
