ST. MODWEN RENEWS SPONSORSHIP OF WYTHENSHAWE AFC

WYTHENSHAWE Amateur Football Club Girls Under 12’s team will be starting the new season match ready in kit provided by corporate sponsor St. Modwen.

St. Modwen, who owns and manages Wythenshawe Town Centre, has renewed its sponsorship for the club for the fifth season, choosing to sponsor the kit for the newly formed U12’s Girls team for 2018-2019.

Founded in 1946, Wythenshawe AFC is one of the biggest grassroots clubs in Greater Manchester, run by volunteers with 32 teams aged four up to open age male and female teams.

The club has recently spent £1m on a new facility at Hollyhedge Park. Having taken more than eight years to raise the funds needed, the club now has a state of the art complex consisting of a brand new clubhouse, floodlights, spectator stands, one full size football pitch and five other smaller pitches for training.

The sponsorship consists of a full kit and a tracksuit, or jacket. St. Modwen’s logo will feature on the back of training wear which is worn during all team training sessions and games at Wythenshawe AFC ground.

Carl Barratt, Junior Section Chairman of Wythenshawe AFC , said: “We are delighted to have signed this new agreement with St. Modwen as one of the sponsors for Wythenshawe AFC. The club is a community benefits society and all of the staff are volunteers, so every sponsor is warmly welcomed and important in ensuring the club can continue.

“We are extremely thankful for St. Modwen’s contribution and continued support for the club in their fifth season as sponsors of one of the U12’s teams.”

Daniel Davis, Wythenshawe Town Centre Manager, said: “This is our fifth season sponsoring Wythenshawe AFC. The club is a great asset to the local community with a great history. We are committed to our work in Wythenshawe and are delighted to be supporting the club for another season.”

St. Modwen, the expert developer and regeneration specialist, owns and manages Wythenshawe Town Centre, attracting new retailers to the popular shopping centre and running a programme of family events throughout the year.
