St Modwen secures another major industrial centre deal

A 12.4 -acre plot at Tewkesbury Business Park, Glos, on which a large manufacturing and distribution centre is to be developed , has been secured by St Modwen Developments Ltd, in partnership with Stoford Developments Ltd.

The 270,000 sq ft building which will become a manufacturing, distribution and head office complex for a major building products manufacturer, is to be developed by St Modwen immediately and completion is scheduled for May 2004. This is the latest of a number of large distribution centre deals that St Modwen has concluded in the past 12 months including Screwfix Direct (322,500 sq ft) at Stoke-on-Trent and Argos (638,500 sq ft) at Centre 38, Burton-upon-Trent.

Rupert Joseland, of St Modwen, said: “This acquisition provides a prominent position for one of our existing customers who had a requirement for a new head office and manufacturing complex with good motorway access. The deal emphasises St Modwen’s ability to provide a comprehensive service to occupiers.

“We have an agreement with our client to provide a phased completion with the offices scheduled for availability in Spring next year. The site will be fully operational by the end of next year.”
