St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, has secured planning permission to upgrade and revitalise the outdoor and sports facilities at Olive Hill Primary School in Halesowen.
Following changes requested by the school to meet its current needs and future requirements, plans were submitted for a new grass football pitch, tarmac’ play areas, an Early Years Learning Centre and a forest area.
Ian Romano, senior development surveyor at St. Modwen, said: “In moving forward with the proposals at Olive Hill Primary School, we are able to create a much improved play and educational environmental for pupils and visitors to the facility.
“We will commence work in the next few months, mindful of the need to fit the construction around that of the day to day running of the school. We expect work to take around six months to complete.”
Rachel Cutting, headteacher at Oliver Hill Primary School, added: “We’re really looking forward to work commencing and of course completing on our planned new facilities, which will offer pupils an enhanced environment in which to learn and play.
“We’re keen for the students to understand the processes involved in the creation of these new facilities and will be looking to interact closely with St. Modwen to make the development a fun and engaging learning experience for pupils at the school.”
