ST MODWEN SELLS ONE OF THE LAST PLOTS AT ORBITAL
One of the final plots of land on the company’s 50-acre Orbital Centre, Cannock, has been sold by St Modwen Developments Ltd to C H Shaw Properties for £920,000.
The 2.2 acre plot has planning consent for industrial and office development.
Orbital Centre, located next to a junction of the M6 Toll, has been developed over a period of years to provide a supermarket, a major non-food retail park, a hotel, pub restaurant and an 80,000 sq ft factory, service centre and headquarters for Finning Materials Handling, as well as other high quality employment space.
Ian Romano of St Modwen, said: “Orbital has been a very successful redevelopment project of a former opencast mining site in conjunction with Staffordshire County Council. The site posed immense technical challenges which the company overcame and this deal marks effectively the end of a long hard won success story. One plot remains available for future development.”
