St. Modwen signs Euro Pool System to 10-year lease in Tamworth

St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics has secured the signature of European supply chain specialist Euro Pool System for a 49,825 sq ft unit at one of the developer’s flagship schemes, St. Modwen Park Tamworth.

Based in the heart of the Midlands, St. Modwen Park Tamworth provides unrivalled access to Junction 10 of the M42, making it the ideal home for leading industrial and logistics companies.

With further phases planned, the entire development could create up to 1,700 new jobs in the area once complete.

Euro Pool System, Europe’s leading provider of logistics services for reusable packaging in the fresh produce supply chain, is pursuing its development policy in UK and will use the facility to carry out its operations.

The 10-year lease marks St. Modwen’s second letting at the speculative three-unit scheme after electrical installation company SM UK Ltd moved in at the start of December 2019, taking a 12,000 sq ft unit.

Only one unit from the first phase of construction, scaling 28,708 sq ft, remains available for occupation at the 35-acre industrial and logistics park.

Gregg Titley, Development Director at St. Modwen Industrial & Logistics, said:

“Our Tamworth scheme is proving popular with prospective occupiers, evidenced by the fact that only one of our first phase of three high-quality units remains available. The impact of the pandemic hasn’t wavered the levels of interest and positive conversations with the market remain ongoing. St. Modwen Park Tamworth will be a fitting home for Euro Pool System and we look forward to working in partnership with them.”

Álvaro Molina, Country Manager at Euro Pool System, added:

“Owing to the recent boom in the grocery sector, our volume of work has increased exponentially. We had a requirement for well-located, high-quality space and we’ve now found that at St. Modwen Park Tamworth. We look forward to moving in and getting the unit fully operational, bringing new staff and expertise to the area.”

St. Modwen Park Tamworth also boasts a 321,000 sq ft ‘big box’ unit – St. Modwen’s largest ever speculative build – delivered in response to the lack in supply of larger industrial units in the immediate area. T321 is currently available for immediate occupation and holds an ‘Excellent’ BREEAM rating, with solar panels allowing the unit to be operationally carbon neutral.

Katie Monks, Associate Director at Savills, added:

“This is a prime distribution site, prominently situated at a key motorway junction, placing occupiers at the heart of the Midlands transport network. Euro Pool System identified St. Modwen Park Tamworth due to this strong location, benefitting not just from proximity to the motorway network but also key customers. With larger ‘big box’ space also currently available at the scheme, we are expecting high levels of interest.”
