St Modwen Ventures, an investment subsidiary of St Modwen Properties PLC, has secured a vital road closure order enabling work on the £2.3 million redevelopment at The Daniel Owen Shopping Centre, Mold, to get underway.
The 2,787 sq m (30,000 sq ft) new build element of the scheme will include a 1,045 sq m (11,244 sq ft ) store for Argos and 697 sq m (7,500 sq ft ) premises for Peacocks, which will be the major anchors for the redeveloped centre.
Steve Prosser of St Modwen, said: “The road order is the final piece in the jigsaw. We had already obtained planning consent and entered into land agreements with the council and the freehold investor in the centre. We are on site this month and the scheme will open in the autumn.”
The overall redevelopment will comprise the relocation of the market hall and the construction of seven retail units, plus first-floor offices of 511 sq m (5,500 sq ft). The pedestrian malls will also be upgraded.
