Another 9,290 sq m (100,000 sq ft) of industrial and distribution space is to be developed by St Modwen Developments Ltd at its 43-acre Coombs Wood Business Park, Halesowen.
Detailed planning consent has been obtained for the £5 million development for which construction will commence this month.
A 5,109 sq m (55,000 sq ft) factory is to be built for Dormole Ltd, trading as Toolbank, who have taken a 15-year lease with a short term option to purchase. A factory of 1,115 sq m (12,000 sq ft) is under negotiation with owner occupiers and 3,112 sq m (33,500 sq ft) comprising small business units and workshops are being developed speculatively.
Nick Kay of St Modwen said: “There is to be a sizeable push ahead on Coombs Wood because of the demand that the park is continuing to attract. Last year we let 121,000 sq ft on the park and this year’s programme is already at that level with further opportunities being pursued.”
Coombs Wood is being developed by St Modwen in conjunction with Corus. Fuller Peiser is the agent for St Modwen.
