ST. MODWEN STUDENT LIVING RECOGNISED AS EXEMPLAR OF INDUSTRY BEST PRACTICE FOR ITS FACILITIES MANAGEMENT OF SWANSEA UNIVERSITY’S BAY CAMPUS

A recent independent audit* of the newly opened Swansea University Bay Campus, under the National Code for Assured Accommodation, has formally recognised the on-site facilities management, provided by St. Modwen Student Living, as an exemplar of industry best practice.

Paddy Jackman, Chair of the National Codes audit panel, said:

“The National Code for Assured Accommodation exists to ensure that providers of large student developments, such as those at Swansea University, commit to maintain a minimum set of professional standards for their accommodation and its ongoing management.  The four key values of our associated accreditation revolve around accountability by the supplier or manager of the housing, verification that the organisation continues to meet the initial standards set, continuation of improvements to the management of the site, and a comprehensive complaints system to manage any issues. On our inaugural verification visit to the new Bay Campus, we could find neither fault nor need for any improvement whatsoever – which is almost unheard of in our line of work.  As Chair of the audit panel, I extend my wholehearted congratulations to the St. Modwen Student Living team for this significant achievement.”

Louise Loewenson, General Manager of the eight-strong St. Modwen Student Living team at the Bay Campus added:

“Our shared common goal with the University is to deliver a consistently high quality experience for the 1,462 students taking up residence at the Bay Campus.  We are committed to providing the very best standard of accommodation and facilities management and to pass our very first accreditation audit with flying colours, just one month after the Campus opened its doors, is something we’re all very proud of.”
