ST. MODWEN SUBMITS PLANNING APPLICATION FOR BESTWOOD VILLAGE RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT

St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, has submitted an outline planning application for a brand new residential development at Bestwood Village in Nottinghamshire.

The proposals for the 15 acre site include up to 220 dwellings as part of a sustainable, high quality development that will also comprise public open space and landscaping.

Located adjacent to Bestwood Village and adjoining Bestwood Country Park, it is proposed that a range of new homes, including detached, semi-detached and terrace properties, some of which will be affordable, will be created.

The proposals also provide for a footpath linking the development with Bestwood Country Park and also the National Cycle Route, which runs adjacent to the site

Richard Hickman, planning manager at St. Modwen, said: “We’re pleased to be submitting outline plans to Gedling Borough Council for the redevelopment of the former British Coal site at Bestwood in Nottinghamshire.

“The plans aim to totally transform the location, creating an attractive residential community in what is an ideal destination for families and young professionals.

“We have worked and will continue to work in close collaboration with a number of local organisations including Bestwood Village Vision, Friends of Bestwood Park and the Parish Council. This will help ensure that our development not only complements the local area but, importantly contributes to local requirements for new homes.”
