ST. MODWEN SUBMITS PLANNING APPLICATION FOR FINAL PHASE OF DEVELOPMENT AT WHEATLEY HALL ROAD

St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, has submitted a planning application for the final phase of development at its Wheatley Hall Road site in Doncaster. The proposals, if approved, will deliver new commercial units to the site.

The plans include a 12,000 sq ft trade counter unit and 8,300 sq ft of additional units, which will provide provision for eight restaurant, café or hot food take away outlets. This final stage of the development will further complement the mixed-use site, which already includes a 40,000 sq ft Dunelm Store, a family-friendly Marston’s public house and additional car parking for Cooper Lighting. Planning permission is also in place for a Goals Soccer Centre.

This milestone marks a significant step forward in the development of the 13 acre site and forms part of St. Modwen’s plans to bring important investment and jobs, as well as much-needed leisure and recreational facilities to the area. The planning application also follows St. Modwen’s recent completion of a 15 year lease for the Dunelm Store, which has subsequently been sold to an undisclosed purchaser.

Richard Bannister, Development Manager at St. Modwen, said: “We are delighted with the progression of our Wheatley Hall Road site and know that the jobs created by the new Dunelm Store and Marston’s public house are already having a positive impact on the local economy.

“Our latest proposals will deliver the final phase of redevelopment at this prominent site in Doncaster, providing further investment and job opportunities to the local area. We’re already receiving a significant amount of enquiries for the units, which demonstrates the demand for quality, commercial space in Doncaster.”
