Expert developer and regeneration specialist, St. Modwen, has received planning permission to complete the final phase of development at its Albion Gateway site in Burton-upon-Trent.
East Staffordshire Borough Council has granted consent to the 87,600 sq ft scheme, which will comprise a number of industrial and trade units ranging from 2,500 sq ft up to 5,775 sq ft, with the option to combine units for larger companies seeking up to 20,000 sq ft of space. The previous phase of more than 50,000 sqft was developed in 2016 and all the units were either sold or leased shortly after completion, with occupiers including Tool Station, Eurocell and A-Plant.
13,000 sq ft of the newly consented space has already been pre-let to MKM Building Supplies and 9,000 sq ft has been pre-sold to a Burton-based building supplies business, signalling a healthy interest in the site well ahead of the start of construction.
Work on the final phase will begin in July, with the units expected to be completed in early 2019.

Albion Gateway is a landmark trade counter and warehouse scheme encompassing more than 130,000 sqft on the 10 acre site.
