St Modwen to develop ready steady store building in Doncaster

St Modwen Ventures has agreed to build and sell a 37,000 sq ft (3,437 sq m) self-storage unit for Ready Steady Store on a two-acre site in Wheatley Hall Road, Doncaster for £3.18 million.

Detailed planning consent has been secured and work has already commenced with completion later this year.

Nigel Cunis of St Modwen’s Leeds office, said: “We are delighted to be working with Ready Steady Store in helping to fulfil its ambitions in the Yorkshire region. The company is planning to extend the unit to 75,000 sq ft (6,967 sq m) with the addition of mezzanine space.

“The transaction was concluded in six weeks from initial discussions which was achieved by both parties taking a flexible and pragmatic approach and assisted by the understanding and efficiency of Doncaster Planning Authority.

“The building will be on a prime and highly visible site adjacent to Wheatley Hall Retail Centre.”

Graham Norris, acquisitions director of Ready Steady Store, said: “Ready Steady Store is thrilled to have added yet another site to the company’s Yorkshire network; Yorkshire being one of its regions of strategic focus.”
