ST. MODWEN WELCOMES FEEDBACK AT PUBLIC CONSULTATION INTO PLANS FOR A NEW MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT AT HILTON

St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, has welcomed feedback on plans to create a new mixed use development at the former Ministry of Defence site adjacent to The Mease, at Hilton, South Derbyshire.

Local residents and interested parties were given the opportunity to view the proposals, which include plans to construct a 420 place, two form primary school, together with residential and employment development at a public consultation at Hilton Village Hall on Wednesday 20th November.

Members from St. Modwen’s project team were on hand at the event to discuss the proposals, which include the creation of up to 425 new homes and where feedback was welcomed to the plans. Once evaluated, these comments will help inform the preparation of an outline planning application to be submitted to South Derbyshire District Council.

Richard Hickman, planning manager at St. Modwen said: “The public consultation was well attended and we’ve already received some interesting comments in relation to the proposals. Over the next few weeks we will be evaluating all the feedback that we have received and will be working on preparing an outline planning application that takes into account the needs and requirements of the local area and its residents.

“Our aim is to create a sustainable, mixed use development. An important part of this process is consulting with the public, giving members of the community an opportunity to provide us with their views and opinions on our proposals for the site.”
