Rewind, an independent shop offering a range of vintage and modern collectables, is the latest new business to open at Waterdale Shopping Centre. St. Modwen, which owns and manages the centre, has agreed a five year lease with the retailer for a newly refurbished, 816 sq ft unit.

In addition, St. Modwen has let an additional 4,212 sq ft of floor space on Cleveland Street to Doncaster Refurnish, an existing retailer at the centre, which will support the expansion plans of the business. Doncaster Refurnish provides quality new and pre-owned furniture for the communities of South Yorkshire.

The vast majority of units on Kingsgate are now let, which is a positive sign of regeneration at Waterdale Shopping Centre, as work continues to create a more vibrant shopping and leisure environment for both retailers and customers.

Richard Bannister, Regional Manager at St. Modwen, said: “The launch of Rewind and expansion of Doncaster Refurnish show that we are heading in the right direction. New tenants are keen to have a presence in Waterdale Shopping Centre, while existing tenants are growing as a result of the commercial success they have enjoyed here.

“These new additions to the centre demonstrate our continued support to local, independent businesses, which are able to offer something new and different to shoppers. We remain wholly committed to regenerating the centre so that it benefits both customers and retailers in the area.”

Mark Taylor at Rewind, said: “Our store has a unique proposition and we wanted to launch in a location which can support such an offering. Being an independent business, Waterdale Shopping Centre is an ideal location for us, as the ongoing regeneration and proximity to other successful retailers will ultimately allow us to share Rewind’s diverse selection of collectables with the right consumers.”

Andy Simpson at Doncaster Refurnish, said: “Doncaster Refurnish is a business designed for the communities of this region, and by this very definition, Waterdale Shopping Centre has proven to be the right site for our store, due to it being a popular central location for people in Doncaster. With the recent expansion, we are delighted to be able to give our customers more of what they love at Doncaster Refurnish.”
