STEELWORK COMPLETED ON NEW 80,000 SQ FT SPECULATIVE DEVELOPMENT AT PARKSIDE BUSINESS PARK IN DONCASTER
The construction of the first two buildings of a major new 250,000 sq ft commercial development at Parkside Business Park in Doncaster is now well underway with completion of the erection of the main steel framework.
The first phase of the development includes two new speculative warehouses totalling almost 80,000 sq ft. On completion, Unit A (36,934 sq ft) and Unit B (41,438 sq ft) will address the current shortage of good quality mid-size warehouse space across the region.
The development of the first phase will be completed in Autumn this year and property consultancy CBRE is marketing the new buildings.
In addition to bringing new investment opportunities to the local area, the development, which is being delivered by regeneration specialist St. Modwen, is envisaged to create around 150 full time jobs once fully complete.
Rob Richardson, Development Manager at St. Modwen, said: “The completion of the steel framework is a great milestone for the scheme. This is a significant speculative development undertaken without any Government or European funding and reinforces our confidence in Doncaster and the strength of the local economy.”
Jacques Esterhuizen, Associate Director at CBRE, said: “It is very encouraging to see the steel framework in place. St. Modwen has carefully considered the design and specification of these units and we are confident they will attract strong interest from local, regional and national occupiers.”
St. Modwen’s growing commitment to Doncaster is evidenced by its increased investment in the town. In addition to Parkside Business Park, work continues to revitalise Waterdale Shopping Centre, including the delivery of 22,000 sq ft of improved and modern retail, leisure and office space. The final phase of development at Crompton Retail Park, including a new 10,000 sq ft Farmfoods store, is also expected to be completed in 2016.
