Househunters in Rugby are being encouraged to use the government’s Help to Buy scheme to purchase a new home at St. Modwen Homes’ Edison Place development, located off Leicester Road.

Under Help to Buy, the government lends buyers up to 20% of the cost of their new home, therefore potential homeowners need only a minimum of a 5% cash deposit and 75% mortgage to make up the rest of the property’s listed price.

For example, a one bedroom apartment at St. Modwen Homes’ Edison Place development in Rugby, priced at £104,995, could be purchased with a deposit of just £5,249.75.

Jo Winston, Sales Manager at St. Modwen Homes, said: “One of the main obstacles for many first time buyers looking to get onto the property ladder is the large deposit required to secure a new home. Help to Buy is a great opportunity for anyone struggling to save for a deposit. At Edison Place the scheme continues to prove popular, with many of our purchasers taking advantage of the lower deposits needed.”

Nationally, Help to Buy has helped 77,000 people become homeowners. Available to people on all stages of the property ladder, Help to Buy can be used on all house purchases at Edison Place, including the popular one and two bedroom apartments.

There are currently just nine spacious one and two bedroom apartments remaining for sale at Edison Place. Not only have these been designed with spacious and bright living areas but each of the two bedroom homes features an en suite leading off the master bedroom – perfect for young couples and families.

Jo said: “Located just off Technology Drive, Edison Place is perfectly situated just one mile from Rugby train station, making it a great place for commuters to call home. What’s more, the many shops, restaurants and cafes on offer in the town centre are just a short walk away, ideal for catching up with friends at the weekend or after work.”

In addition to the apartments, there is currently a selection of four bedroom semi-detached properties available to purchase at Edison Place. Particularly popular amongst families and downsizers, all the homes have been fitted with high quality fixtures and fittings throughout and include spacious open-plan living, stylish designer kitchens and contemporary bathrooms as standard. Prices for the four bedroom homes start at just £222,995.

Following a year of strong sales at Edison Place, St. Modwen Homes is planning to launch the next phase of housing, comprising two, three and four bedroom semi-detached and detached properties in April.

Ideally situated off Leicester Road, Edison Place is within walking distance of the many retail and leisure facilities on offer in Rugby city centre, as well as being just one mile from Rugby train station enabling people to commute to London Euston within an hour. The development is also well positioned for access to the north via the M6 and the south via M45.
