Steve Burke joins the Board

The Board of St. Modwen Properties PLC (“The Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Steve Burke * (aged 47), its construction director, as an executive main Board director, with effect from 30 November 2006.

Steve Burke, who joined the Company in November 1995, having previously worked at Clarke Construction and with other Midland contractors, has played a major role in all the Company’s significant projects since his appointment.

Anthony Glossop, chairman of St. Modwen, comments:

“I am delighted at Steve’s promotion.  He has built an extremely strong team of construction managers who, together with him, form one of the key differentiators between the Company and its peer group, particularly in its brownfield regeneration and management of complex development projects.”

* Steve Burke has options over 107,500 ordinary shares in the Company and is not a director of any other publicly quoted company. There are no other matters which are required to be disclosed by paragraphs 9.6.13(1) – (6) of the Listing Rules.
