Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration secure future of Hem Heath Bowling Club
Hem Heath Crown Green Bowling Club is to be relocated by Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration, the joint venture company formed by St Modwen Properties PLC and Stoke City, as part of the development of the 400-acres Trentham Lakes mixed-use scheme.
A new crown green facility is to be provided on a site which is being purchased from Stoke City Council, adjoining Longton Cricket Club. A planning application has been made and it is proposed to have the new facilities completed in time for the opening of the 2001 season.
Simon Rutter of St Modwen, said: “The relocation secures the future of the bowling club and it involves the co-operation of the city council, the bowling and cricket clubs, and ourselves.”
