A half-acre site on the proposed Norton Park district centre, Stoke-on-Trent, has been sold to Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries for a public house and restaurant , by St Modwen Securities Ltd, a development subsidiary of St Modwen Properties PLC.
Construction is starting on site and the new building, trading as Bostins, which will be operated by the Pathfinder Pubs Division of W & DB, will be ready for opening in the Spring.
Euan Lindsay, of St Modwen, said: “This is a further amenity identified in the masterplan for the district centre. It will provide greatly desired facilities to serve residents from the new residential area and the local community.”
Paul Rands, acquisitions manager for Pathfinder Pubs Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries, said: “We are delighted to have secured this location for one of our new format of pubs which will provide good quality food at an affordable price. The customer will be made to feel like a ‘true local’ and we will be committed to contributing positively to the success of the new and existing communities in the area.”
Last autumn, supermarket chain Aldi signed up for a store in the eight-acre district centre which is scheduled to open late Spring.
