THE SILKMEN TEAM UP WITH ST. MODWEN FOR NEW STADIUM PLANS

Macclesfield Town Football Club ( www.mtfc.co.uk ) has entered into an agreement with the UK’s leading regeneration specialist St. Modwen to bring forward proposals for the relocation of the club’s stadium.

The npower League Two club’s selection of St. Modwen is in response to its vision for a new stadium as part of a mixed use development in the town. The development, known as South Macclesfield Development Area (SMDA), comprises 130 acres and is situated close to MTFC’s existing Moss Rose ground.

The proposed new 7000 capacity, low carbon stadium would incorporate a conference facility to meet the needs of businesses in the area and will be designed to anchor a sports and leisure complex to serve the local community.

Macclesfield Town Chairman, Mike Rance said: “Our ambitious plans to create a new home for the Silkmen have taken a big step forward with the announcement of this partnership. St. Modwen is the ideal partner for a project that we hope will not only meet the needs of the club but will also bring substantial benefits for the local community.”

Michelle Taylor, regional director at St. Modwen, said: “We’re delighted to be chosen by Macclesfield Town as its development partner in such an exciting project. We will be working hard to bring forward inspiring proposals which reflect the vision of the club and the local community.”

St. Modwen ( www.stmodwen.co.uk ) is the UK’s leading regeneration specialist with a wealth of experience of working in partnership with private and public sector organisations.
