THE WHISKY SHOP OPENS AT ST. MODWEN’S TRENTHAM ESTATE
Premium store The Whisky Shop has opened a new shop at Trentham Shopping Village, part of St. Modwen’s award-winning Trentham Estate and Gardens in North Staffordshire.
The Whisky Shop is the largest whisky only specialist in the UK, selling a huge range of different whiskies and offering customers extensive product knowledge and service. The brand has 18 other stores at premium locations across the country, including Edinburgh’s Old Town close to Edinburgh Castle and London City.
The Trentham Estate and Gardens is St. Modwen’s flagship tourist and leisure destination and is centered on the famous historic Gardens, Parkland and Lake, extensively restored since 2004 which include the Italian Garden Tearoom. The 725 acre Estate also includes the unique Trentham Monkey Forest and other attractions as well as hosting a regular calendar of events including concerts and outdoor film shows.
The Trentham Shopping Village at the main entrance to the Estate includes the popular Trentham Garden Centre and 60 specialist shops, cafes and restaurants with high profile independent and big brand names such as Jan Constantine, Yankee Candles, L’Occitane, Portmeirion, Spode and Royal Worcester, Brown and Green and Whittard of Chelsea.
Andrew Torrance, Managing Director of The Whisky Shop, said: “We have chosen to open our 19th store at the Trentham Estate as it is one of the country’s top tourist, leisure and shopping attractions and appeals to a wide audience. Since opening our first store in Edinburgh in 1992, we have chosen the locations of all our stores very carefully and Trentham fits the bill perfectly. We look forward to welcoming customers and taking them through a journey of Whisky discovery.”
Mike Herbert, regional director at St. Modwen, said: “We are pleased that The Whisky Shop has chosen to come to Trentham. Their commitment to the Estate pays testament to success of the attraction.
“The mix of leisure and shopping facilities as well as the calibre of our retailers provides customers with a unique and very enjoyable shopping experience. The popularity of the Estate continues to rise and St. Modwen works hard to appeal to a broad range of customers.”
The Trentham Estate is one of the country’s top visitor destinations and is owned by St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist. The Estate attracts over three million visitors a year, due to its wide appeal and diverse activities to engage every generation.
St. Modwen has recently embarked on a major landscape restoration of historic parkland at the Estate’s North Park. The project will see around 10,000 trees planted along with the re-creation of the Park’s 18th Century landscape character, improving ecology and enhance public enjoyment. The North Park was a key feature of the Estate which was owned by the Duke of Sutherland family from the 1540s to 1979
