TIS THE SEASON TO BE SHOPPING – Christmas Shopping at The Meads

St. Modwen, owner of The Meads shopping centre in Farnborough and the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, has announced its family entertainment at the centre in the build-up to Christmas.

On Saturday 20 November at 10.30am, Santa will arrive at the centre in his sleigh pulled by real reindeer. Santa’s Grotto, where children can meet Santa as well as getting a present and photograph, will open at 11am and remain open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until Christmas. From midday there will be live music from a modern barbershop quartet and children can meet an Ice Queen, reindeer and Peppa Pig all afternoon. There will also be a juggler and face painting before the Christmas lights are switched on by Kim Robson from Eagle Radio, Peppa Pig and Santa at 4pm.

On Saturday 27 November, jugglers and a singer will be performing throughout the afternoon. Traditional carol singers will join a humorous traffic warden act on 4 December and on 11 December, there will be a stilt walker and a lounge band playing live in the shopping centre. On the Saturday before Christmas, 18 December, there will be a Frank Sinatra tribute band and walking Christmas trees to entertain you while you do your last minute Christmas shopping!

The Meads will also be hosting ‘Breakfast with Santa’ every Saturday between 9 and 10.30am from the 27 November till Christmas, where children and their parents can have breakfast with Father Christmas! There will also be a balloon modeller and face painting for children every Saturday in the run up to the big day.

Andy Wynn, centre manager at the Meads said: “Christmas will be really special this year at The Meads. With New Look opening in time for Christmas, we have something to offer everyone over the festive period.”
