Stoke-on-Trent’s ‘Motor City’ is fast developing at Trentham Lakes where VW Audi is set to become the latest car dealership to locate on the 400-acre industrial and logistics park.
Volkswagen Group (UK) Ltd has exchanged an agreement to purchase a three-acre site, for £1.275 million. The agreement , subject to detailed planning consent, is for the development of a car dealership to be operated by the prestigious Audi marque. A planning application is to be submitted shortly and it is hoped that construction will commence later this year for opening towards the middle of 2007.
This deal follows the recent acquisition by Bristol Street Group Ltd of a 3.7 acre site for the development of a Ford Motor dealership.
Euan Lindsay, of Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration, said: “Clustering car dealerships and servicing facilities is a very sustainable form of development, providing potential customers with the opportunity to view a variety of makes of vehicle at a single destination. We are very much looking forward to the development and opening of the Audi dealership.”
