Trentham Lakes land sold for housing
Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration Ltd, the joint venture vehicle of St Modwen Properties PLC and the City of Stoke, has sold 13.9 acres of serviced residential land at Trentham Lakes, Stoke, to David Wilson Homes Ltd for an undisclosed price.
Prior to its sale, Stoke-on-Trent Regeneration remediated and remodelled the land which was part of the site of the former Hem Heath Colliery. In addition, it installed infrastructure to serve the whole of the 35-acre residential area which will provide more than 350 homes, neighbourhood shops and fully equipped play areas.
Trentham Lakes covers some 400 acres and is being developed as a major mixed use scheme with a wide range of industrial, distribution, office and leisure uses in addition to this residential element.
Ray Hill, Development Surveyor for St Modwen, said: “This is the first parcel of residential land to be sold at Trentham Lakes. We are very pleased that the regeneration of Hem Heath Colliery is producing such a successful and sustainable mix of employment, leisure and residential environments.”
