A local housing development has been recognised as the best example of regeneration in the UK.
Trentham Manor, located off Stanley Matthews Way, won the top accolade at this year’s Housebuilder Awards which looks to celebrate the best residential developments in the county.
St. Modwen Homes was celebrated for its commitment to the local community, its house designs and quality of build; all of which have helped transform the former site of Hem Heath Colliery into a desirable place to live.
This is the second year in a row that St. Modwen Homes has won the Best Regeneration Initiative category having taken home the top award for Branston Leas in Burton-upon-Trent in 2016.
Additionally, St. Modwen Homes was one of three companies to be shortlisted for Best Medium Housebuilder at this year’s Housebuilder Awards and was a finalist in the Best Training Initiative category.
Dave Smith, Managing Director at St. Modwen Homes, said: “We’re so proud of what has been achieved at Trentham Manor. Years of hard work have gone into transforming the local area and it’s fantastic for this to be recognised by industry professionals at this year’s Housebuilder Awards.
“Brownfield sites are often regarded as less desirable places to build as they can require a higher level of work prior to build commencing. At St. Modwen Homes however, we see great value in bringing these areas back to life. What’s perhaps most rewarding, is the positive feedback from our new homeowners; particularly those who have lived in the area all their life and know first-hand just how much the site has changed.”
With St. Modwen Homes rated a five star housebuilder, 100% of homeowners at Trentham Manor stated that they would happily recommend the development and the developer to a friend.
In addition to the 132 homes that are currently being built, St. Modwen Homes has also delivered a new play area at the development. Moving forwards, St. Modwen Homes will soon be launching its new development in Stoke-on-Trent at the former Victoria Ground site.
The Housebuilder Awards are held in partnership with the NHBC (National House Building Council) and HBF (Home Builders Federation) and recognise best practice across the industry.
Located just five miles from the centre of Stoke-on-Trent, Trentham Manor currently offers a range of three and four bedroom houses, with prices starting from just £179,995 for a three bedroom terrace property.
