TWO NEW STORES FOR WEMBLEY TOWN CENTRE

St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, has signed two new deals with T-Mobile and local optician Betterspecs at its Wembley Central development.

T-Mobile is to take a 1,800 sq ft unit on Wembley High Road, adjacent to TK Maxx, and is due to open by the summer. The mobile phone operator has become the UK’s biggest communications company since its merger with Orange, with 28 million customers across the country. Meanwhile, Betterspecs will relocate from a temporary shop in the development to a newly built 900 sq ft retail unit. The optician is a long established business in Wembley and has built up an excellent reputation locally.

Killian Morris, development manager at St. Modwen said: “Wembley Central continues to draw major brands, illustrating the positive impact of urban regeneration in attracting well recognised high street retailers in an otherwise tough economic environment. T-Mobile joins TK Maxx, Co-operative Food, Iceland, Peacocks, Bonmarche and Eurochange as the latest name in our shopping line up.”

Tina Sahota of Betterspecs said: “We have always been based in Wembley and have a real affinity with the local area. It’s tremendous to see major high street brands once more being attracted to the town centre. We look forward to welcoming both new and existing clients to our smart new premises”.

The Wembley Central development will provide 135,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space when complete. It also has 24,000 sq ft of offices at Ramsey House, and Central Apartments – a development of 117 private apartments to complement 85 affordable homes built on site. Details of the next phase of the development at Wembley Central will be announced soon.
