Works starts at St. Modwen Homes’ latest housing development in Longbridge

Building works have officially begun at St. Modwen Homes’ new Austin View development in Longbridge, which is just 10 miles from Birmingham City Centre.

Austin View is situated on the former Longbridge plant which dominated the area since 1906 and produced Austin, Nash Metropolitan, Morris, British Leyland, and MG Rover cars. The factory buildings were demolished back in 2006.

St. Modwen Homes received full planning permission for the new residential development from Birmingham City Council in September 2020. Once complete, the 56 uniquely designed one and two-bedroom apartments will form part of a vibrant new community.

We’re delighted that the foundations are now being set in place at our Austin View site and construction is moving forward. The development will offer homebuyers a selection of expertly designed apartments, featuring our signature high ceilings and tall windows, as well as  excellent commutable routes into Birmingham.

This milestone marks an important step on our journey in Longbridge and we can’t wait to see the first people move into their dream home here.”

Richard Harris, Construction Manager at St. Modwen Homes

Ideally located within walking distance of Longbridge Town Centre, buyers will benefit from a plethora of amenities right on their doorstep. For those who love to get outdoors, there is a range of scenic walking and cycling routes along the River Rea that head up to the Waseley Hills Country Park.

Perfect for commuters, Austin View is less than a mile away from Longbridge Train Station, which offers direct services into Birmingham City Centre and Redditch. For those who prefer to drive, the development provides easy access to the Midlands motorway network, including the M5 and the M42.

The new apartments at Austin View are currently expected to go on sale this Autumn. To find out more and get the latest information on releases, visit www.stmodwenhomes.co.uk.
